A woman acted as the frontwoman in a scheme to collect vulnerable Touched people at 12 Linkers Lane.[1]

Biography

This woman had a Touched daughter whose turn was transforming any liquid into pure water. This included being able to turn wine into water and purifying a water pump that was making people ill. This woman considered such ability unnatural and a burden to her, so she drowned her pregnant daughter in a hot bathtub, remarking that she could see everything as her daughter's turn made the water crytal clear.[1]

In 1899, the woman lives in an address falsely listed in fliers as St. Romaulda's Orphanage. One day, Elisabetta Cassini is exposed as one of the Touched and searches for this house for protection. Elisabetta reaches the house at 12 Linkers Lane and the old woman invites her in, but once inside two masked men capture her.[2]

It eventually reaches Amalia True that her face is used in fliers, so she and Lucy Best go to the address listed. They break down the door, knock out the older woman, and kill the only masked man present. Amalia then discovers a logbook on the table detailing all the Touched that they've abducted, so she instructs Lucy to take the man and the older woman back to the Orphanage while she takes the logbook to Lavinia Bidlow.[1]

The older woman awakens tied to a chair in the Orphanage. Lucy scares her then proceeds to interrogate her with help from Désirée Blodgett's turn of confession inducement, while others Touched watch. They learn that she works for a well-spoken, tall man with a fur coat, but she doesn't have a name to offer. She guesses that they chose her to act as their frontwoman after hearing about her story. Désirée asks what do they do to the girls, but the woman goes on to describe the story of how she killed her daughter. In a fit of rage, Lucy removes her gloves and charges towards the woman, but Mary Brighton and Penance Adair restrain her. The woman begins calling them abominations, so Harriet Kaur uses the electroshock umbrella to knock her out.[1]
