A worker in Douglas Broome's engine is a Touched girl whose turn allows her to withstand three tons of pressure without harm.[1]
Biography[]
This girl started working in Douglas Broome's engine works wiping down the plating press. One day, she slipped and got her arm caught in the hydraulic press. The girl then pulled it back out, withstanding three tons of pressure, and snapped the hydraulic. Those who witnessed the incident cheered for her, who displayed no bruises.
A month later, Mr. Broome tells the council about the girl in a meeting to decide the Prime Minister's public position on the Touched. General Pecking then exclaims that Mr. Broome should enlist her.[1]
